Also, there are operation rooms for emergency surgery, CT scan room, ultrasound room, radiography room and examination room equipped with facilities and state-of-the-art medical equipments to respond to emergencies, which can stand comparison with any other emergency medical centers. What is Hemodialysis unit

Greetings from Hemodialysis unit of Chungcheongnam-do Hongseong Medical Center. “Healthy kidney eliminates wastes and excess water to the urine. “Dialysis treatment” is to replace some of kidney functions when kidneys fail to function any more due to chronic kidney disorders such as chronic glomerulonephritis, diabetic kidney disease and hypertensive renal disease. Hongseong Medical Center has been operating Hemodialysis unit since April, 2009 in order to assist patients with end stage renal failure for convenient dialysis treatment, in which clean, cozy and a family-like atmosphere is prepared in the Hemodialysis unit to provide comfortable medical service.

Cardio-cerebrovascular center

What is Cardiovascular center?

This is the first Cardio-cerebrovascular center in north-western Chungnam area which treats acute phase heart diseases based on a rapid and accurate diagnosis. Recent westernized eating and living habits, lack of exercise and increased population with obesity cause increasing incidence rate of adult diseases such as hypertension and diabetes and a trend of rapid increase of cardiovascular diseases (angina pectoris, acute myocardial infarction, etc.) and peripheral vascular diseases.
Cardiovascular center is an area of Internal Medicine that is responsible for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases in the cardiovascular system and handles hypertension, dyslipidemia, ischemic heart diseases (angina and myocardial infarction), congenital heart disease, valvular heart disease, cardia, pericardial disease, aorta disease, infective endocarditis, arrhythmias and heart failure and patients with these diseases may have symptoms of shortness of breath, chest pain and discomfort, fainting, palpitations, irregular heartbeat, cyanosis and edema which are likely to be observed in people with heart diseases
Therefore, when you not only know that you already have above disease, but also experience symptoms and signs mentioned above, it is necessary to visit the Cardiovascular center to receive detailed examinations and proper treatment
The Cardiovascular center of Hongseong medical center treats hypertension, hyperlipidemia, valvular heart disease, heart failure and arrhythmias and is conducting exercise stress testing and 24 hour living electrocardiogram (ECG) as well as ECG, echocardiogram and coronary angiography. In addition, for accurate examination and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, we introduced medical devices such as angiography imaging system and intravascular ultrasound (Ivus) first in north-western Chungnam area to provide patients with angina and myocardial infarction more specialized medical service by conducting coronary artery interventional procedures (balloon angioplasty and stenting).

What is Angiography System?

It is a procedure performed by a specialist who inserts a thin tube (2 mm or less) called a catheter into the blood vessels of the patient and injects a contrast agent to check the abnormality of blood vessels to perform a proper treatment. Depending on the blood vessels for examination, it is divided into coronary angiography, venography and lymphatic angiography and depending on the examination region, it is divided into cerebral angiography, upper/lower extremity angiography, abdominal angiography and coronary artery angiography performed for cardiovascular diseases.
